Staying Vibrantly Alive in Midlife

Are you feeling vibrant, are you feeling alive every day? If you want to feel the fire of life as you are aging, you need to maintain your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health.   It will feel like a balancing act, but it is definitely worth it.

You may have noticed that if you stare at the computer all day long, you are drained. Your body needs to move to stay young. Keep your activity level up, and don’t forget that having sex counts as exercise. Exercise keeps your muscles toned, your heart and immune system strong.

Practice good hygiene and dress well.

Get enough sleep: during sleep our cells restore themselves and in our dreams we handle events and feelings we might not have taken time to integrate during our busy day.

Take time to improve your memory. If we don’t practice learning new things our memory tends to deteriorate.

Do exercises to improve your vision. It is a fact of life that the lenses of your eyes lose their flexibility. Keeping your eyes fixed on the computer screen can contribute to vision problems.

Take some time to slow down the thinking mind. Your emotional health is also very important. In this fast paced world it’s sometimes challenging to slow down enough to feel your feelings. A lot of times when you are feeling lazy or sluggish it’s because you don’t want to feel underlying fears.

Make sure you make time for family and friends. It’s easy to take them for granted because they are always there. Taking this time for each other is essential to nourishing to your soul and brings a sense of support.

Keeping vibrantly alive in Midlife is a high goal that deserves your full engagement. However it is not always possible to be consistent. Even if you only sometimes make healthy choices, they will bring huge benefits to your life. If you work with your spouse as a team you have a better chance of success. However make sure that you invite your partner to join you, rather than force healthy choices and activities onto her or him. The best way to do this is to lead by example rather than nagging.

Taking time for intimacy and sexual expression is good for you physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

My workshop will cover the keys to a vibrant long life. The advantage of taking time for workshops like Booming Relationships is that other attendees bring up questions you yourself may not think of asking. You will be giving yourself the opportunity to make like-minded friends and become a valuable support for each other.
